While the black and white parts of life are important, maybe it is the gray that shapes us, that shows us what we are. The gray is all around us if we notice it. The way you love someone, but can’t describe it to anyone else. The way a bruise is a beautiful reminder of a painful past. The fleeting empathy you have with a stranger while waiting for the bus in the rain or eating lunch alone. It’s all there. Black and white can be obvious, but gray, gray is personal; it colors the rest. The parts of life you can’t describe show who you are. The way one girl can read in peace with all the chaos around her might be the inspiration someone else needs to get by. The embarrassment of one guy might be the blush a girl adores. We will never be able to find, to know, all the gray of our life, but maybe if we spend our life exploring it and admiring it we just might turn out okay.
